Liège is where the SEMAT adventure began in 1975. Today, the historical headquarters remains the heart of the Group's activities. The site features a large showroom, an extensive parts inventory, specialised workshops and an experienced team ready to support customers with their projects.
Following the acquisition of Interparts, the Ghent site has become a major hub for earthmoving machinery. This strategic location allows SEMAT to strengthen its presence in Flanders while offering sales, rental and after-sales services throughout Belgium.
Established in 2010, the Libramont site was created to bring SEMAT's services closer to businesses operating in the south of Belgium. This location also offers rental, maintenance and repair services, ensuring fast and efficient support for customers.
Opened in 2020, the Courcelles site allows SEMAT to further strengthen its expertise in drilling equipment and machinery rental. Thanks to its strategic location in the Hainaut region, it provides a highly responsive service to businesses throughout the area.

1975

The Creation of SEMAT

SEMAT was founded in Liège by Louis Cop with an innovative vision: optimising the use of construction equipment through rental and equipment-sharing solutions. The company's first activities focused on Atlas Copco generators and compressors.

1990

Development of Strategic Partnerships

SEMAT expanded its activities through major partnerships with Bobcat and Atlas Copco (now Epiroc). This period marked the beginning of significant growth in the fields of construction equipment, drilling solutions and industrial machinery.

2010

Opening of the Libramont Branch

To strengthen its proximity to customers in southern Belgium, SEMAT opened a new branch in Libramont. This expansion improved service quality, spare parts availability and technical support across the Luxembourg province.

2012

Acquisition of Interparts in Ghent

SEMAT continued its nationwide expansion with the acquisition of Interparts, a specialist in earthmoving equipment. This strategic move strengthened the Group's presence in Flanders and expanded its sales, rental and after-sales service activities.

2020

Expansion with the Courcelles Site

SEMAT invested in a new facility in Courcelles to support its growth in drilling equipment, machinery rental and specialised attachments. This opening also reinforced the Group's presence throughout the Hainaut region.

2021

New Identity and Digital Transformation

SSEMAT entered a new phase of development with the launch of an ambitious digital strategy, the establishment of new partnerships and the introduction of a modernised corporate identity. This evolution prepares the company for the challenges of the decades ahead.
